Pulchritude:
Fall into New Shoe Trends

By Sherelle Green

As the summer trends begin to fade and the latest fall trends arise from the shadows, the style and color of a vast array of summer shoes transform into new fall shoe fashions.

From funky and fresh to stylish and comfortable, Chicago shoe boutiques offer a variety of captivating and affordable shoe trends for the chic diva or traditionally cultured clientele.

Ovah the Heel Shoes, Kham’ryn B., Sensual Steps, and Heelz are boutiques that cater to shoe lovers of all styles and fashions while giving the Chicago community an opportunity to purchase the hottest shoe trends in their own back yard.

Ovah the Heel Shoes

Ovah the Heel Shoes

Owner of Ovah the Heel Shoes, Kewana Reese, says that her new store has an exclusive, contemporary, and welcoming atmosphere, with customer service being her number one priority.

Shoes range from $24.99- $250. Some of the fall shoe designers Reese will carry in her store are Jessica Simpson, House of Deréon, Micheal Kors, Michael Antonio, Marc Fisher, Paris Hilton, and Rocawear.

From platform heels to comfortable Mary Jane’s, Ovah the Heel Shoes appeal to the fashionable female and the everyday working woman. “I like to cater to everyone’s fashion,” Reese says.

Kham’ryn B. Shoes and Accessories

Kham’ryn B owners, Karyn and Khamiya Beard, combined their individual names to create a boutique name just as uniquely distinctive as the aspiration the sisters set for every customer.

Shoes for women average at $69 and can be priced as high as $350. “We carry high-end priced shoes by Vince Camuto, Charles David, and Betsey Johnson,” they say. In addition, Kham’ryn B. features key designers such as Jessica Simpson and Luichiny who both specialize in quality, stylish, and affordable shoes. Heelz

Individuals trying to save a few pennies for the end of summer season may want to check out Heelz for exclusive and upscale shoes.

Salon manager, LaRhonda Bennett, says that after years of luring customers in by their luxurious ambiance and products, Heelz will be closing soon. Despite this unfortunate notice, shoe lovers definitely need to take advantage of the great sales Heelz will have throughout the summer and fall season.

Heelz carries chic designers such as Gianmarco Lorenzi, Due Farina, Francesco Morichetti, and Giuseppe Zanotti. “We carry high caliber designers with high quality shoes,” Bennett says. “We don’t just focus on trends, we go for different.”

Sensual Steps

Owner of Sensual Steps, Nicole Jones, describes the atmosphere of her shoe boutique as simply elegant and inviting. “We are client focused and we work extremely hard to ensure that we are providing affordable, unique products,” Jones said.

From designers such as Naughty Monkey to Betsey Johnson, Sensual Steps has continued to carry styles that are unique and funky for more than three years. Chicagoans are anxious to get a hold of the new fall trends being introduced by affordable and high-end shoe fashions such as Marciano, Paris Hilton, Carlos Santana, Sergio Zelcer, Halé Bob, and Zinc.

“Fringes in shoes are very big, as well as boots, suede and leather shoes,” Jones says. Sensual Steps carry a wide variety of shoes, including a Bridal and Prom section, all ranging from $40-$250.
